For months my drive to and from work was along a highway that was perpetually under construction. The drive was often slow and after a while I began to imagine that each piece of construction equipment was a giant animal, often a prehistoric creature like a dinosaur. Eventually I started visiting the construction site when the machines weren't in use and created portraits of the beasts.
